Telecom Namibia is facing a major leadership shake-up after its Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Commercial Officer all resigned, forcing the state-owned telecommunications operator to appoint an acting chief executive while it recruits a new executive team.
The state-owned telecommunications operator’s Board of Directors has appointed Armando Perny as Acting Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Dr Stanley Shanapinda.
Perny will assume the role on 1 July 2026 for a one-month period while the board undertakes the recruitment of a substantive Chief Executive Officer.
The board also confirmed that Chief Commercial Officer Calvin Muniswaswa will leave the company on 30 June 2026, while Chief Financial Officer Sharidene Kisting’s resignation will take effect on 30 September 2026.
Telecom Namibia said Perny was appointed based on his operational experience within the organisation and his understanding of the company’s strategic priorities.
The company said interim arrangements for the vacant executive positions would be announced in line with its governance and succession planning framework, while recruitment processes for the three executive positions would commence in accordance with approved policies.
Despite the departure of three senior executives, Telecom Namibia said measures had been put in place to ensure operational stability and sound financial stewardship during the transition, with executive leadership functions remaining in place to maintain uninterrupted service delivery.
Board Chairperson Fimanekeni Petrus said the leadership changes would not affect the company’s strategic direction or day-to-day operations.

Stakeholders are assured that the organisation’s leadership team continues to function effectively and remains focused on delivering value to customers, employees, and shareholders,” Petrus said
