Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC), Namibia University of Namibia (NUST), and Methealth Administrators Namibia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research, technology, and innovation.

“Through this collaboration, we anticipate expanding MTC’s service reach and presence across Namibia, further cementing our role as a digital enabler of change. As partners (MTC, NUST, and Methealth), we aim to unlock new frontiers in digital innovation, refine systems and processes, drive automation, and provide client-centric, improved services within our respective domains,” said Nawa Likando, Head of Digital Transformation at MTC.

“With a strong commitment to technological development, MTC understands that investing in technological innovation is a catalyst for development and growth. Investing in and future-proofing technology in the health space is vital for driving innovation and economic growth.”

The partnership will also focus on identifying and pursuing research and development projects with immense promise for Namibia.

“Collaboration will extend to nurturing the talents of young people through internships and leveraging the resources of the MTC Innovation Centre to share lessons learned, explore innovative solutions, and challenge the boundaries of what is possible—all while adhering to the confines of relevant legislation,” Likando said.

“This partnership is not just about the collaboration between institutions; it is about people—our fellow Namibians. It is about empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to excel in a rapidly changing world. It is about providing cutting-edge services that improve the quality of life for all our citizens. And it is about building a future where Namibia stands as an outstanding example of innovation, resilience, and progress.”

MTC is telecommunications company listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange.
